MANCHESTER, UK - Purple, the global guest, staff and multi-tenant WiFi and analytics platform, has been selected by Nexus, the passenger transport operator for Tyne and Wear, to provide WiFi across 12 Metro stations and five Nexus offices, under a three-year agreement. The Metro network carries around 37 million passengers a year, putting Purple in front of a huge volume of travelers across the North East.
For those passengers, it means a simple, reliable way to get online as they move through stations, whether they are planning a journey, checking travel updates or staying connected on the go.
The agreement is a significant UK public transport win and adds to Purple's growing presence connecting travelers across stations, airports and transit operators, helping providers turn passenger connectivity into a better travel experience.
