WiFi for visitor attractions

Know who came through the gates, and bring them back

Visitor WiFi that turns a day out into consented first-party data, puts your next event in front of everyone on site and gives your marketing team a reason for the second visit. Ticketing, tills and staff stay on their own secure networks, on the access points you already own.

  • Sign-in in each visitor's own language
  • Salesforce, HubSpot and 400+ connectors
  • xPSK for scanners, tills and kiosks
  • ISO 27001 certified

The gap

Your ticketing system knows who paid. It does not know who visited.

One booking brings a family of five, a coach party arrives on a tour operator's ticket and walk-ups pay at the gate. Most of the people who spend a day at your attraction never reach your CRM, and the free WiFi they use tells you nothing about them. That gap shows up in four places.

A typical attraction today

  • Ticket data names the lead booker, not the group who came with them
  • Seasonal events promoted on posters and social, never to the people already on site
  • International visitors greeted with a sign-in page they cannot read
  • Ticket scanners, tills and staff tablets sharing a password with the visitor network

With Purple

  • Every visitor who connects signs in with consent, so you know who was actually there
  • Your sign-in page changes with the season, as Guinness Storehouse does for St Patrick's Day
  • Sign-in follows the language on each visitor's phone, as it does across Merlin Entertainments attractions
  • Every device gets its own key and VLAN, and staff sign in with their own account
One platform, four plays

Everyone on site, and everything that keeps the day running

Visitor data, on-site campaigns, repeat visits and a secure back-of-house network, run from one dashboard by the marketing and operations teams you already have.

Visitors

Turn a busy day on site into a visitor database you own

Visitors sign in with email or a social account in a few taps, on a page in your brand and in the language set on their phone. Every sign-in carries CCPA/CPRA consent and flows into your CRM through 400+ data connectors, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and Braze, so the people walking your site become people you can talk to after they leave.

  • Merlin Entertainments collected 174,421 opted-in records from 285,032 visitors in three months
  • 61% of connecting Merlin visitors opted in, across attractions in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America
  • Ask one question at sign-in, such as who they are visiting with or where they have traveled from
  • Consent captured with a full audit trail, ready for your data protection team

Campaigns

Put your next event in front of everyone already on site

The sign-in page is the first screen a visitor looks at after the gate. Use it to sell what is coming up: a late-night opening, a summer season, an annual pass or a timed add-on. Schedule a page for a single weekend and it switches on and off by itself, so nobody on your team has to remember.

  • Guinness Storehouse ran a St Patrick's Day sign-in for 4,281 visitors over the weekend, with 39% opting in
  • 1% of Battersea Power Station's WiFi visitors booked tickets for its summer outdoor cinema and theater
  • Kingsbarns Distillery offered opted-in visitors a free glass by QR code and lifted opt-ins by 5%
  • Different pages by area, date or time, with no change to the network

Guinness Storehouse's seasonal pages went live and came down on schedule, with no one logging in to switch them over.

Return visits

Give every visitor a reason to come back

Most attractions see a visitor once and hope for the best. Purple sends every opted-in record to your CRM and email platform the moment they connect, tagged by attraction, language and the answers they gave, so your follow-up lands while the day is still fresh. Operators with more than one site can see who visits more than one.

  • Merlin Entertainments pushed records into segmented Salesforce mailing lists to drive repeat visits across its attractions
  • Connect review platforms such as TripAdvisor, as British Airways i360 does, to ask for a review after the visit
  • Visitor numbers, dwell time and returning visitors, by site, in one dashboard
  • Plugs into Salesforce, HubSpot, Braze, Mailchimp and 400+ more CRM and marketing platforms

Operations

Ticket scanners, tills and staff on their own secure networks

A busy day runs on more than visitors' phones. Handheld ticket scanners, EPOS terminals, kiosks, cameras and interactive exhibits need a stable connection, and so do the seasonal staff and contractors who join for the summer. xPSK gives every device its own key and VLAN, and staff sign in with their own account instead of a shared password.

  • Works under your vendor's name: iPSK on Cisco, DPSK on Ruckus, MPSK on HPE Aruba and Juniper Mist, PPSK on Extreme and UniFi
  • EPOS on its own VLAN, isolated from the visitor network, as PCI DSS expects
  • Time-limited keys for seasonal staff and contractors, with no MDM needed
  • Staff sign in with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace, and leavers are revoked automatically

Attraction WiFi questions, answered

What marketing, commercial and IT teams ask us most

Do we need to replace our access points?

No. Purple runs on the access points you already own, including Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper Mist, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cambium, Extreme and Fortinet. There is nothing to rip out and no on-site server to install.

How much visitor data will we actually get?

It depends on your visitors and how you ask, but attractions already live give a guide. Merlin Entertainments averaged a 61% opt-in rate across its attractions, and Guinness Storehouse saw 39% across its St Patrick's Day weekend.

Can the sign-in page change for events and seasons?

Yes. You can schedule a page for a set date range and it goes live and comes down by itself, as Guinness Storehouse does for St Patrick's Day. Pages can also differ by area of the site or time of day.

What about international visitors?

The sign-in page follows the language set on each visitor's phone, so overseas visitors read it in their own language. Merlin Entertainments runs multilingual sign-in across attractions in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.

Which CRM and marketing platforms do you connect to?

Purple connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Braze, Mailchimp and 400+ more platforms through its connectors library, and to review platforms such as TripAdvisor. Opted-in records arrive as visitors connect.

Is visitor data handled in line with CCPA/CPRA?

Yes. Every sign-in carries CCPA/CPRA consent with a full audit trail, and you choose exactly what you ask for. Purple is ISO 27001 certified, CCPA/CPRA compliant, and has had zero data breaches since 2012.

How do ticket scanners, tills and kiosks connect?

With xPSK. Each device gets its own key and VLAN, bound to the first device that uses it, so payment and ticketing kit stays apart from the visitor network. You can revoke one key without touching any other device.
