Turn a family day out into members, adopters and return visits
Visitor WiFi that knows which families spent the day with you, sells memberships and animal adoptions on the screen they are already holding, and puts your conservation story in front of everyone on site. Keepers, tills and life-support sensors stay on their own secure networks, on the access points you already own.
- Sign-in in each visitor's own language
- Salesforce, HubSpot and 400+ connectors
- Family-friendly DNS filtering
- xPSK for tills, scanners and sensors

Thousands of families walk through your gates. Most leave without a trace.
Ticketing tells you how many came and who booked. It rarely tells you who else was in the group, whether they would join as members or what they made of the sea lion talk. Free WiFi is already the thing every parent looks for on arrival, and at most zoos it gives nothing back. That gap shows up in four places.
A typical zoo today
- A WiFi password on a sign by the café, and no idea who used it
- Memberships and adoptions sold only at the gift shop till or online, weeks later
- Conservation work that most visitors never hear about
- Tills, ticket scanners and tank sensors sharing a network with visitors' phones
With Purple
- Every visitor signs in on a page in your brand, with CCPA/CPRA consent logged
- Membership and adoption offers on the first screen they see, with their email already filled in
- Your conservation story, feeding times and keeper talks shown at the moment they connect
- Every device on its own key and VLAN, and every keeper signed in with their own account
Every family on site, and everything that keeps the animals and the day running
Visitor data, memberships and adoptions, conservation messaging and a secure back-of-house network, run from one dashboard by the marketing and operations teams you already have.
Know which families spent the day with you
A sign-in in your brand turns every connected phone into a consented visitor record in your CRM.
02 · Members and adoptionsSell the membership while the day is still going
Annual passes, animal adoptions and keeper experiences offered at the moment of physical visit.
03 · ConservationTell your conservation story on site
Feeding times, keeper talks and conservation work on the welcome page, with a quick question to learn what visitors care about.
04 · Keepers and devicesKeepers, tills and sensors on their own networks
Identity sign-in for staff and volunteers, xPSK keys for EPOS, scanners and sensors, all apart from visitors.
Turn every family on the paths into someone you can talk to
Parents connect on arrival to check the map and send photos home. Purple makes that moment a sign-in in your brand, in the language set on their phone, with email or a social account in a few taps. Every record carries consent and flows into your CRM through 400+ data connectors, so the people walking your site become people you can invite back. Merlin Entertainments runs this across its attractions at a 61% average opt-in rate.
- Sign-in shown in each visitor's device language, as Merlin Entertainments runs it
- CCPA/CPRA consent with a full audit trail on every record
- Records sent to Salesforce, HubSpot and Braze as visitors connect
- DNS content filtering keeps the guest network suitable for families and school groups
Visitor dataSell memberships and adoptions while the family is still in front of the meerkats
The best time to sell an annual pass is the moment a family works out they will be back. Ask at sign-in whether they are already members, and send everyone who is not straight to your membership or adoption page with their email already filled in from the WiFi sign-in. Members are tagged in your CRM through 400+ data connectors, so renewals and adoption updates reach the right families.
- One question at sign-in separates members from people who could become one
- Email prefilled from the WiFi sign-in to cut drop-off on the sign-up page
- Different offers by season or by zone: an adoption by the penguins, a keeper experience by the big cats
- Members tagged in your CRM, so renewal emails go to the right people
Pages can be scheduled to switch on and off by themselves, so a half-term adoption push runs without anyone on your team remembering to turn it off.

MembershipsPut your conservation work in front of every visitor, then ask what they think
Breeding programmes, field projects and habitat work are why many zoos and aquariums exist, and most visitors never hear about them. The welcome page is the first screen a visitor reads after the gate. Use it for today's feeding times and keeper talks, a link to your conservation appeal, and one optional question. The City of Avondale asked park visitors a single star rating and got a 92% response rate.
- Today's feeding times, keeper talks and conservation news on the welcome page
- Micro-surveys at sign-in: why they came, what they enjoyed, whether they would donate
- Answers saved to each visitor's record, so appeals reach the people who care
- Audience intelligence on visitor numbers, dwell time and return rates for each site
ConservationKeepers, tills and life-support sensors on their own secure networks
A zoo runs on more than visitors' phones. Keepers update records on tablets, handheld scanners check tickets at the gate, cafés and gift shops take card payments, and aquariums rely on water quality sensors and cameras. xPSK gives every device its own key and VLAN, and staff, volunteers and seasonal teams sign in with their own account instead of a shared password.
- Each device gets its own key and VLAN, revocable one at a time
- Works under your vendor's name: iPSK on Cisco, DPSK on Ruckus, MPSK on HPE Aruba and Juniper Mist, PPSK on Extreme and UniFi
- Staff sign in with Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace or Okta, and leavers lose access when their account is disabled
- Card terminals kept off the visitor network, which supports PCI DSS segmentation
xPSKWhat a password on a sign gives you, and what Purple gives you
Most zoos already pay for WiFi across the site. The difference is what comes back from it.

Visitor data that pays its way from the first season
Attractions and venues already use Purple to grow their CRM and learn what visitors think, on a platform built to keep that data safe. These are results from sites that are live today, and the terms the platform runs on.

Zoo WiFi questions, answered
What marketing, membership and IT teams ask us most
Do we need new access points across the site?
No. Purple runs on the indoor and outdoor access points you already own, including Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper Mist, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cambium, Extreme and Fortinet. Coverage across paths and enclosures comes from your access points. Purple adds the sign-in, the data and the secure networks on top.
Is visitor data collected with consent?
Yes. Every visitor chooses whether to opt in to marketing, and their consent is logged with a full audit trail under CCPA/CPRA. Purple is ISO 27001 certified and has had zero data breaches since 2012.
Can we sell memberships and animal adoptions through the WiFi?
Yes. Ask at sign-in whether a visitor is already a member and send everyone who is not to your membership or adoption page, with their email prefilled. Offers can change by season, by event or by area of the site.
Is the guest network suitable for children and school groups?
DNS content filtering is available on the guest network, so you can block inappropriate categories of site for everyone who connects.
What about international visitors?
The sign-in page is shown in the language set on each visitor's phone. Merlin Entertainments runs multilingual sign-in this way across its attractions.
Which CRM and email platforms do you connect to?
Salesforce, HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, Bloomreach and Airship, among 400+ data connectors. Records arrive tagged with the site, language and any answers the visitor gave.
How do keepers, tills and sensors connect securely?
Staff and volunteers sign in with their own Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace or Okta account. Devices that cannot sign in, such as card terminals, ticket scanners, cameras and water quality sensors, each get their own xPSK key and VLAN, kept apart from the visitor network.
