Why teams move from Foxpass to Purple

Foxpass is a cloud RADIUS, LDAP and PKI access layer.

Purple runs cloud RADIUS and EAP-TLS too, and adds guest WiFi, captive portal and venue analytics on the same platform.

Foxpass secures access across WiFi, VPN and servers.

Purple focuses on the whole WiFi experience: secure staff WiFi plus guest WiFi, footfall analytics and WiFi marketing.

Foxpass issues per-user and per-device certificates.

Purple adds iPSK Private Area Networks for multi-tenant and campus WiFi, alongside certificate-based EAP-TLS.

Foxpass has no captive portal or footfall analytics.

Purple captures guest data at a branded captive portal and reports footfall, dwell time and repeat visits.

Foxpass is oriented to IT and DevOps access control.

Purple serves IT, security and guest-experience teams from one platform, backed by ISO 27001, GDPR and B Corp certification.

Built for IT, security and the whole venue

Purple gives IT and security teams passwordless WPA2/3-Enterprise on cloud RADIUS, and gives the rest of the venue guest WiFi, analytics and marketing, all on one platform.

IT & network teams

One platform for secure staff and guest WiFi

Purple gives IT and security teams cloud RADIUS and passwordless WPA2/3-Enterprise with EAP-TLS and managed certificates, so there is no PKI to build or run and no on-prem RADIUS to maintain. It syncs with Entra ID, Okta and Google Workspace, runs as a vendor-neutral overlay on the access points you already own, and adds guest WiFi, a branded captive portal, iPSK multi-tenant networks, footfall analytics and WiFi marketing in the same platform. Backed by ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA, Cyber Essentials and B Corp certification across 80,000+ venues. Book a demo to see it on your network.

Frequently asked

Can Purple replace Foxpass for staff WiFi?

Yes. Purple delivers cloud RADIUS with EAP-TLS and certificate-based WPA2/3-Enterprise, the same core capability, and adds iPSK, guest WiFi, captive portal and analytics on the same platform. Foxpass extends to VPN and server access with SSH key management, which is a different job from running the WiFi experience end to end.

Do both support passwordless, certificate-based WiFi?

Yes. Purple offers EAP-TLS certificate onboarding, iPSK and managed PKI. Foxpass offers EAP-TLS with Cloud PKI on its Advanced tier. Purple adds iPSK Private Area Networks, which Foxpass does not.

Which identity providers does Purple sync with?

Purple authenticates against Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, JumpCloud, SAML and LDAP. Foxpass syncs with Google Workspace, Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin, Active Directory and Microsoft 365. Both cover the major identity providers.
