A good default for cafes, shops and clinics. Plan on one AP per 25 to 40 active guest devices.

3 Instant On sites, each with the same external captive portal and RADIUS settings, grouped as 3 venues in Purple.

About 625 visitors per AP per month.

Configuration steps
  1. 1.In the Instant On web or mobile app, add a Guest network at each site.
  2. 2.Set the guest portal to External captive portal and paste the Purple splash page URL.
  3. 3.Add the Purple RADIUS servers for authentication (UDP 1812) and accounting (UDP 1813) with the shared secret.
  4. 4.Add walled garden entries for the Purple portal domain and the Google, Apple and Microsoft sign-in domains.
  5. 5.Keep guest client isolation on, and put guests on their own VLAN if they share a wired network with staff.
  6. 6.Connect Purple to your CRM or email platform so new profiles sync automatically.
  7. 7.Turn on post-visit review emails with your Google and Tripadvisor links.
How this is calculated
  • -Logins = visitors x a venue login rate (34% for hospitality and dining), plus 4 points with social login.
  • -65% of logins are first visits that create a new opted-in profile; the rest are returning guests.
  • -Marketing value = new profiles x your value per contact. Set it from your own email revenue per subscriber.
