Farmacorp, Bolivia's largest pharmaceutical chain, have signed a one-year WiFi analytics and customer engagement renewal with InCloud IT and Purple.

The WiFi solution, which is present in over 60 pharmacies across Bolivia - soon to be 130+ following scheduled expansion - offers customers a secure, high-speed guest WiFi connection with a simple and customised access journey, whilst also enabling Farmacorp to capture key customer data via Purple's captive login portal.

Through analysing the data, Farmacorp have been able to better understand their customer demographics, interests and behaviour at individual pharmacy locations and across their entire estate.

Bernardo Molina, Head of Digital Marketing at Farmacorp, said: “The data captured has helped us improve the user experience both digitally and in-store. The platform is sophisticated and so allows us to segment and target different customer groups with personalised communications easily. We are also able to see our peak times which means we can better manage staffing requirements, ensuring the best in-store experience.”

Molina, continued: “We have the best loyalty club in the country and Purple has been crucial in helping us identify our most loyal customer demographics and locations. We use the platform to segment this data and offer promotions through the digital channels our customers use most, and with Purple, we have been able to track the success of these campaigns.”

Farmacorp has recently been named by Forbes as one of South America's top 10 customer-focused businesses. “Customer experience is something we take very seriously and Purple has played a significant role in supporting our efforts to continually improve this,” said Molina, “We use data from multiple sources to track customer trends so we can provide the best products and prices.”

Since the installation of WiFi analytics in early 2018, Farmacorp has seen 1.4 million visits to their pharmacies, and have added more than 65,000 new customer records to their database.”

Cleide Vieira, Customer Success Manager at Purple, said: “Providing customers with a superior experience is now a key differentiator between companies looking to increase the lifetime value of their customers. WiFi analytics plays a significant role in that, and we want to support businesses in delivering a stand out WiFi experience for customers, whilst also benefiting the business with customer insight that they can use to improve internal processes. It has been a pleasure working with Farmacorp and I can't wait to see the success we achieve together moving forward."

Molina, concluded: “It has been really easy to work with Purple. We meet regularly with our Customer Success Manager, Cleide, to discuss our general objectives and understand the full potential of the tool and how it can help support those objectives.”

Frequently asked questions

How do multi-location retail pharmacies and chains benefit from guest WiFi analytics?

Multi-location retail pharmacies transform in-store customer connectivity into measurable business insights. By deploying branded captive portals and presence analytics, retail chains capture verified first-party CRM contact profiles, measure hourly footfall density across branches, track dwell times in prescription waiting zones, and trigger targeted digital marketing campaigns directly to loyal shoppers.

How does a branded captive portal capture verified customer CRM records in retail stores?

When shoppers connect to the guest WiFi network, they are presented with a mobile-optimized splash page offering one-tap social login, SMS authentication, or custom registration forms. Visitors voluntarily opt in to promotional updates, allowing the retail chain to sync verified email addresses, mobile numbers, and demographic data directly into their central CRM or loyalty database.

How does retail WiFi presence analytics optimize store staffing and peak hour planning?

WiFi access points detect anonymous smartphone probe signals to calculate footfall volume, passerby conversion rates, and department dwell times in real time. Store operations managers use these empirical traffic heatmaps to schedule pharmacy dispensing and checkout staff during verified peak traffic windows, eliminating customer wait times and reducing walk-away losses.

How do retail chains segment loyalty club members and trigger localized promotions via WiFi?

Purple LogicFlow correlates repeat device MAC addresses with CRM profile history. When a customer enters any pharmacy branch in the estate, automated workflows can trigger a personalized welcome SMS with health vouchers, loyalty point updates, or prescription refill reminders, driving higher basket spend and repeat visit frequency.

Which enterprise wireless hardware supports multi-site retail WiFi analytics and captive portals?

Purple operates as a hardware-agnostic cloud platform. It integrates natively via cloud APIs and RADIUS authentication with leading enterprise networking hardware, including Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba Networking, CommScope Ruckus, and Juniper Mist. Retail IT teams deploy guest analytics across hundreds of stores without replacing existing access points or wiring.

How do retail WiFi analytics platforms ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and data privacy regulations?

Enterprise WiFi platforms enforce data protection by presenting granular, explicit opt-in consent checkboxes on the captive portal before collecting personal details. Unauthenticated device probe signals used for aggregate footfall metrics are pseudonymized and encrypted. Customers retain the right to access or delete their records on demand through automated privacy compliance portals.
