DNS speed test
See which public DNS resolver answers fastest from where you are, before you change your network settings.
Benchmark public DNS resolvers
Times are measured from your browser to each resolver's DNS-over-HTTPS endpoint, so they reflect your real path to that resolver. A resolver may show as blocked if its endpoint does not allow cross-origin browser requests, not because it is slow.
Why resolver speed matters
Every web request starts with a DNS lookup. A slow or distant resolver adds a delay to the first connection to every new domain, which is felt most on captive portals and busy guest networks. Comparing resolvers from your actual location helps you pick the fastest one for a site, or confirm that a switch to Cloudflare or Google would help.
How to read the results
- Lower is better. The fastest reachable resolver is highlighted.
- Results reflect your network and location, so run it on-site.
- A resolver marked blocked simply does not allow browser requests, and may still be fast in practice.
