Password Graveyard competition terms and conditions

1. The promoter

This competition is run by Purple WiFi Limited ("Purple", "we", "us"), Annie Kenney Mill, Hudson Street, Chadderton, Oldham, England, OL9 7FQ.

By entering you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not enter.

2. Who can enter

The competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

It is open to business professionals aged 18 or over who enter using a company email address. Entries from free webmail addresses (for example Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo or iCloud) cannot be considered for a prize.

You must be resident in a country where Purple is able to issue vouchers. Employees of Purple, its group companies and anyone professionally connected with this competition, together with their immediate families, may submit a tombstone but are not eligible to win a prize.

3. Competition period

The competition opens at 00:01 BST on Monday 19 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 GMT on Sunday 8 November 2026. Entries received outside that period cannot be considered.

There are three judging weeks: 19 to 25 October, 26 October to 1 November, and 2 to 8 November 2026.

4. How to enter

Build a tombstone at www.purple.ai/password-graveyard giving a retired or made-up WiFi password, an epitaph of up to 80 characters and a venue type. Submitting a tombstone requires an email address and your acceptance of these terms.

To be considered for a prize you must also complete the optional prize entry step with your name, company email address, company and role.

You may submit a maximum of five tombstones per email address in each judging week.

5. What you may submit

Submit retired or made-up passwords only. Never submit a password that is in use.

Do not submit the name of any venue, business, place or person, anything offensive, anything that infringes somebody else’s rights, or anybody’s personal data.

You confirm that what you submit is your own and that you are free to give us the permission set out in section 10.

6. Moderation

Every tombstone is moderated before it is published. We may decline to publish an entry, or edit it to remove identifying details, at our discretion. An entry that is not published cannot win.

We may remove a published tombstone at any time.

7. Judging

This is a judged competition, not a random draw. A panel from Purple will choose one winner in each judging week, and one grand prize winner across the whole competition, for the most creative epitaph.

The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. "Pay respects" counts shown on the site are a bit of fun and do not determine the winners.

8. Prizes

Each weekly winner receives a £50 voucher. The grand prize winner receives a £100 voucher.

Vouchers are for a retailer of the winner’s choice, subject to that retailer being available in the winner’s country. If it is not, we will offer a reasonable alternative of the same value. Vouchers are issued digitally.

There is no cash alternative and prizes are not transferable. Vouchers are supplied by Purple. The retailers whose vouchers are offered are not sponsors of, and are not connected with, this competition in any way. Any taxes arising on a prize are the winner’s responsibility.

We reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make that necessary.

9. Winners

Weekly winners will be contacted by email within five working days of the end of the judging week. The grand prize winner will be revealed on 12 November 2026 at Smart Retail Tech Expo and contacted by email.

If a winner cannot be contacted, is not eligible, or does not claim their prize within 28 days, we may withdraw the prize and select another winner.

The surname and county of each winner are available on request by writing to the promoter at the address in section 1 within three months of the competition closing.

10. Use of your entry

By submitting a tombstone you grant Purple a worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce and adapt it in the graveyard, on social media and in our marketing.

We publish tombstones without your name or your company name. We will not identify you as the author of an entry without asking you first.

11. Your personal information

We use your details to run the competition, to check that you are eligible and to contact you if you win. Taking part may lead to follow-up from our sales team about Purple’s products and services.

Marketing about Purple news and events is optional and is only sent if you tick the box asking for it. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We record the date and time you accepted these terms as evidence of your consent. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy at www.purple.ai/privacy-policy.

12. Things we are not responsible for

We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or not received for reasons outside our reasonable control, or for any technical fault that prevents you entering.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

13. General

We may cancel, suspend or amend this competition, or these terms, where it is necessary to do so. Any change will be published on this page.

We may disqualify an entrant we reasonably believe has breached these terms or acted in bad faith, including by using automated means to enter.

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with LinkedIn.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
