A full house every night. Your CRM knows one name per booking.
Tickets are bought by one person and used by two, four or a coach party. Gifts, group bookings and agent sales mean many people in your seats never reach your database at all. Your marketing, membership and bar teams all want to reach the same audience, and a WiFi password on the foyer wall tells them nothing. That gap shows up in four places.
A typical theatre today
- The lead booker is in your CRM. The people sitting beside them are not.
- Bar queues at the interval, with the shop and pre-order offers unseen
- Members and friends who look like any other audience member on the night
- Box office PCs, bar tills and ticket scanners sharing one password with visiting companies
With Purple
- Everyone who connects can opt in, so the whole party reaches your CRM with UK GDPR consent
- Merchandise, interval drinks and dining offers on the first screen they see, as LW Theatres runs
- Returning audience members recognised at sign-in and invited back to the next season
- Every till, scanner and box office PC on its own key, and visiting crews on keys that expire
Every seat, every interval, every member and every device
Four jobs that normally sit with four different teams, run from one dashboard on the network you already have.
Know who is in the house
A branded sign-in turns the people in your seats into consented first-party records, not just the person who paid.
02 · Interval and merchandiseSell the interval before it starts
Show merchandise, afternoon tea and bar offers on the page audiences see the moment they connect.
03 · Members and friendsFill next season from this one
Opted-in audiences flow into your CRM and email platform, ready for the next brochure, membership ask or friends renewal.
04 · Front of house and backstageBox office, bar and backstage, secured
Staff sign in with their work account and every till, scanner and box office PC gets its own private key.
Meet the people your box office never sees
Gifted tickets, group bookings and agent sales mean most of your audience arrives as a stranger. The WiFi sign-in is often the only moment they tell you who they are. Purple turns it into consented first-party data: who came, who came back and what they want to see next, in your venue's look and in the language set on each person's phone.
- A branded sign-in with social, email or one-click login, and UK GDPR consent recorded with a full audit trail
- Sign-in shown in the language set on each phone, for tourists and touring audiences
- Records sent to Salesforce, HubSpot, Braze and your email platform through 400+ data connectors
- Audience numbers, dwell time and repeat visits for every venue in one dashboard
Add one question to the sign-in and learn what your ticketing data cannot tell you. Ector County Coliseum asked its audiences, and 43% of those who answered had travelled to attend a show.

Audience dataPut the bar, the shop and afternoon tea in their hand
LW Theatres gives each venue its own branded pages: one before audiences connect and one after. The second carries a carousel of three offers, show merchandise, afternoon tea and food and drink, so the next thing someone sees after connecting is something they can buy tonight. In one opening week, 518 people followed those offers.
- A branded page before connection and an offers page after, each in your venue's look
- Change offers by show, by venue or by date, and schedule them to start and end on their own
- Add Google Analytics campaign links to each offer to see what it earned
- Roll the same pages out across a whole group from one dashboard, as LW Theatres plans for its other six theatres
Interval offersSell next season to the people already in the room
Everyone in the house tonight has already shown they will buy a ticket. Glasgow Life sent its Christmas show brochure for Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to 690 audience members who had opted in over the WiFi. Battersea Power Station promoted its summer outdoor cinema and theatre events on its sign-in pages, and 1% of the people who connected went on to book.
- Consented records sync to your CRM and email platform, ready for the next season brochure
- Promote your membership, friends scheme or next production on the sign-in page itself
- Returning audience members recognised at sign-in, with each visit added to their record
- Members can reconnect automatically at every venue with a Passpoint profile, with no sign-in page
MembersBox office, bar and backstage, each on its own network
Box office PCs, ticket scanners, bar tills, card readers and AV kit cannot sign in with a username and password. xPSK gives each one its own key and its own VLAN, so a leaked password affects one device, not the venue. Staff sign in with the work account they already use, and visiting companies get keys that expire when the run ends.
- Every device on its own key and VLAN, revocable one at a time
- Works under your vendor's name: iPSK on Cisco, DPSK on Ruckus, MPSK on HPE Aruba and Juniper Mist, PPSK on Extreme and UniFi
- Time-limited keys for touring companies and freelance crew, with no MDM
- Front-of-house and backstage staff sign in with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace, and leavers lose access when their account is disabled
OperationsA password on the foyer wall, or a channel your marketing team owns
The access points are already in your building. What changes is what happens when someone connects.

Audience data that earns its keep from opening night
Theatres, concert halls and live venues use Purple to grow their audience lists, sell more on the night and fill the next season. These are results from venues already live.

Theatre WiFi questions, answered
What marketing, front-of-house and IT teams ask us most
Do we need to replace our access points?
No. Purple runs on the access points you already own, including Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper Mist, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cambium, Extreme and Fortinet. There is no on-premise server to install.
Who owns the audience data?
You do. Every record is consented, first-party data captured on your own sign-in page with a full UK GDPR audit trail, and it flows into your own CRM and email platform through 400+ data connectors.
Can it cope when the whole house connects at the interval?
Capacity comes from your access points and internet connection, which stay yours. Purple runs sign-in, consent and authentication in the cloud, with cloud RADIUS on a 99.9% uptime SLA and nothing on site to maintain.
Do members have to sign in every time they visit?
No. Members and regulars can install a Passpoint profile once and then connect automatically and securely at every venue in your group, with no sign-in page.
How do we keep tills, scanners and the box office off the audience network?
With xPSK. Each device gets its own key and VLAN, bound to the first device that uses it, so audience traffic never shares a network with your tills or box office. You can revoke one key without touching any other device.
Can we run it across a group of theatres?
Yes. Every venue runs from one dashboard, with its own branded pages and offers. LW Theatres started with one venue and is rolling the same pages out across its other six theatres.
Where is our data held?
Purple has RADIUS regions in the UK, EU and US, is ISO 27001 certified and UK GDPR compliant, and has had zero data breaches since 2012.
