How does Purple separate patient, visitor, and clinical staff WiFi?

Purple creates distinct SSIDs and VLANs for each user type: patients and visitors access the internet through a captive portal on a segmented guest VLAN; clinical staff authenticate via WPA2/3-Enterprise or iPSK on a separate SSID with no access to guest traffic; and medical devices can be placed on a dedicated IoT VLAN. All three run on the same physical AP infrastructure.

What data protection standards does Purple meet for healthcare?

Purple is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. For NHS deployments, the platform supports DSP Toolkit requirements. Data is processed in UK/EU data centres, and all guest data collected through the captive portal is owned by the healthcare organisation — Purple acts as a data processor under your own privacy policy.

Purple Shield provides DNS-layer content filtering that can block inappropriate categories (adult content, gambling, extremism) and malicious domains from patient and visitor WiFi. Filtering policies are configurable per SSID, enabling different rules for children's wards, general patients, and visitor lounges.
